I've discovered a new word: NOMOPHOBIA. The fear of being "disconnected." The anxiety caused by addiction to phones and social media. We're all nomophobic, and while we're still hunched over our smartphones, we don't realize the world outside the screen. Always too much online, and too little in reality. We ignore the people who are physically close to us, and we forget to observe what's happening around us. Social media as a "new faith," so fanatical as to be almost religious. In this work, a smartphone clutched between two hands, the face of the invisible subject hidden behind a screen, and a rosary resting on the arm. Sharing "at all costs" is the new religion of the world.
